Created for the Contrasts Gallery’s Le France-Mandarin exhibition, Drag-on takes the familiar image of the dragon, an icon for Chinese tradition and culture, and subverts it by negating these meanings with fake Louis Vuitton fabric. Intentionally using shoddy construction, the end piece is a visual commentary of the label consciousness and proliferation of imitation prevalent in Chinese society.
