Founded in Shanghai, Forever brand bicycles are ubiquitous to China’s roads. We wanted to take an everyday, functional object that is mass produced and put a perverse and witty twist on it in terms of materials used and the end associations that it evokes for the viewer. As a discourse on life in China at the turn of a new millennium, it expresses both the quest for personalisation and the desire for expensive objects.
