Located in 798, one of Beijing’s oldest and largest art districts, this refurbished Soviet-era military arms factory serves as a one of a kind multi-purpose event space for Nike China. This imposing brick building was remodeled around the proportions of a basketball court. Drawing inspiration from both the building’s history and its passage through time, we dominated the space with a hung, black mirror split into two halves. The top half can be glided easily through the space providing a dynamic and flexible backdrop for a multitude of event scenarios.
