MQ studio were asked to look at an alternative trajectory for a train station design as a component of a children's education area as part of the Shanghai Expo 2010 theme, 'Better City Better Life'. Taking the quintessential components of a station, namely, the platform, the obligatory waiting area, the station clock, the information board and the covered roof, we re-collaged them to create a green 'edutainment' zone where familiar objects, bamboo, green pots, time etc were re-sculptured to create a playful elevated playground between train arrivals and departures.
