1933 public furniture

SHANGHAI, CHINA

INTRODUCTION

These super-sized bovine-esque bone structures - a stark reminder of the building's uglier past as an abattoir - were restructured into public furniture where the traditional acts of sitting, leaning, laying, becomes an inventive or interactive process. The fiberglass bone structures were further transformed either through the surface treatment, application of flowers, chrome or bold colour, rendering the object uniquely strange without being forbidding.
