INTRODUCTION

This former 1930’s abattoir was remodeled and repositioned as a mixed use lifestyle destination in Northern Shanghai, complete with bars, clubs, restaurants, retail outlets and office space. Acting as Creative Director on this project, we were responsible for the design of all signage, branding, furniture, outside public spaces as well as the core, central exhibition area - a four storey event and performance space complete with libraries, cafes and gallery space. In this space, the original meat hanging rails that wound themselves through the space were reinstated as powered service, lighting and exhibition racks.
