Ristorante Sadler, opened by celebrated two-star Michelin chef Claudio Sadler, requested that a very contemporary Italian dining experience be placed in the former diplomatic buildings used by the American Embassy during the Qing Dynasty. Throughout the years, the building had fallen into disrepair with only the exterior façade remaining. This allowed us to insert the existing empty volumes with a network of contemporary grande saloni’s as a modern take on the building’s venerable past. The restaurant, which has been applauded to have set new standards for Italian fine dining for Asia, features an 85 seat main dining room, outdoor dining courtyard, an informal wine bar and trattoria, and a gourmet retail boutique.
