China's first destination Medical Resort set at the foot of the Xiangshan Mountain in Beijing. Inspired from the stories surrounding the mountain and the Anti-Aging Business, the project takes the form of a Censer- a solid more massive exterior form with a lighter, slightly delicate, 'flickering' interior that mimics the movement of smoke from the incense burner. The Medical Resort story is further played out, as an additional layer, through the Chinese belief in auspicious characters, objects, animals etc- using the crane and pine and its associations with longevity as a strategy, subtle references appear throughout the development therefore fusing the brand and its corresponding relationship to China. The Resort will feature 28 rooms, Restaurant, traditional Spa and other Medical Facilities.
