A three storey mixed used development, housing a museum for antique Chinese costumes, a resource library, a retail space, a café, a manufacturing and production area, and a design centre for one of China’s foremost mainland fashion brands, ME&CITY. The program was considered, as homage to the city where the brand was founded, as a vertically stacked composition of various condensed Shanghai urban typologies where western neighbourhoods, interface and mediate with the Chinese courtyards. The resulting spatialities are rich as they are diverse, open as they are intimate.
